Getting your Adsense account
After checking the list at “Getting your Google account” and securing a Google account we can continue on creating our first webmaster tool account. Google webmaster offers more services at no cost other than providing a proof of claim for ownership for the website we are adding.
If you are using http://blogspot.com, this step may be optional but I cannot guarantee that this is the case since I abandoned blogspot after I got my own hosting. This step may vary from website to website and some free blogging system may not provide any methods to complete this.
The main reason we are getting webmaster tools was to mark the site as our own and this gives a good point boost before application. On some states or country, this step is required. First step to be done was to click “Add a site” which will open the site adding dialog box,
the dialog box was so simple (refer to the image) and only requires that you insert the web address of your website.
Once you have done adding your site address, it will get listed on the “Sites” area where it may have a warning mark. This signifies an extra work on your hand to add a small Google Webmaster code to the top of your webpage inside the head area (after the <head> and before the </head> tags). You will be in luck if Google will acknowledge your site without further request for this small code to appear.
Once this step was done, you must read this term of agreement https://www.google.com/adsense/terms and be sure to agree to all the terms and conditions. To give you some insights, Google won’t approve any website that promotes hate, pornography, racism acts, piracy and hacking.
At some point your application may get rejected and to cope up with that rejection was to read completely the reasons listed by Google team on your application. Work on that part and improve a little. When I applied my Google Adsense account, my website then was discussing open-source software development which I am part of the team and my site was merely 2 months old when I applied having a post of around 10 and 2 comments.
Remember, you are on a little boost due to being part of Google network via Google webmaster tools. Your chances are a little higher than the rest.
